What is Racism?
According to sources, racism is the attitude of those who believe in the superiority of people over each other. For me, racism is a war without blood. The wound does not occur in the body, but heart. No matter what nationality we come from, what language we speak, we are human regardless of skin color. Those who do not adopt these thoughts are those who have lost their humanity. They are those who have forgotten that no creature in the world has any superiority over another and are overwhelmed by their evil.
Forgotten:
People are slowly learning everything: developing technology, building artificial intelligence, even sending vehicles into space. Despite all their achievements, people forget their duties in this world: humanity, to live as brothers … Martin Luther King says about this subject: “We have learned to fly the air like birds and swim the sea like fish, but we have not learned a very simple art of living together as brothers". Wherever you go, even once, someone will judge you but the color of your skin, the language you speak are just the external filters through which one determine humanity. But you will also meet some people that; The one who can put their hands on your shoulders and say "We are all same". They are the real humans in this dark world.
Stand Up Proudly:
Stand up straight! Be proud of your every state, every feature. You determine your value, not those people whose souls have surrendered to the darkness who decide by looking at your face. Stand up with even more strength with every insult that breaks you, tries to bring you down. Show them that it's your soul that makes you, not your body. I don't care about your language, your nationality, your color, the structure of your eyes. Your soul is the feature that makes you, that shows you; It's the traits you're judged on. Your country is the world. The war you're trying to win is against the world, not other countries. “I have no country to fight for; My country is the earth and I am a citizen of the world,” says Eugene V. Debs.
Racism At Love:
Racism not only affects our lives it also interferes with our love lives as if the king is itself. It is trying to destroy the strong bond formed by two people with his slaves. They say people's love is in the soul. And I don't remember it being the color of souls. All I know is this: your color is your soul. It also depends on what kind of person you are. Just because you're white doesn't change the fact that your soul is black with evilness. Likewise, the black's soul is white with kindness...
Turkish music group, MaNga, which has achieved success and represented Turkey at Eurovision has a song about this topic: "We Could Be The Same". And the lyrics are even better than the song’s name: “I don't think they will give up the rage, but I know the world can be great. I can love you more than they hate. I saw you dance like a star. It doesn't matter how different we are. For all this time I’ve loved you without even knowing your name. Even if it's just for one night, we can be the same. It doesn't matter what they say." It is as if MaNga tells in these lines, no matter how much they are hated: your nation, our differences can’t get in the way of my love. No matter what they say, what matters is what we feel.
And don't ever forget! No matter what anyone says; Be proud of who you are, no matter how sad you are or how hurted you feel. It doesn't matter what they say! Let your differences complete you. Because we are not divided, we are one!
