The Yellow Light: Taylor Swift

American songwriter-singer, Taylor Swift was born on 13 December 1989. Swift showed an interest in music at an early age. She was only 11 when she sang National Anthem in Pennsylvania and the following year she picked up the guitar and began to write songs. Swift's taking her inspiration from country music artists such as Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks, she created her own original material and lyrics.

Her narrative lyricism, often takes inspiration from her personal life and it had received widespread critical praise and media coverage so far. A development deal with RCA Records allowed Swift to make the acquaintance of recording-industry veterans, and in 2004, at age 14, she signed with Sony/ATV as a songwriter.

At venues in the Nashville area, she performed many of the songs she had written, and it was at one such performance that she was noticed by record executive Scott Borchetta. And her bright career started with that.

She kept improving and now with sales of over 200 million records worldwide, Taylor Swift is one of the best-selling music artists. Her success includes 11 Grammy Awards (including three Album Of The Year wins), an Emmy Award, two Brit Awards, 11 MTV Video Music Awards (including two Video of the year wins), 12 Country Music Association Awards, 23 Billboard Music Awards (the most wins by a woman), 32 Guinness World Records, and 32 American Music Awards (the most wins by an artist).

She ranked eighth on Billboards Greatest of All Time Artists Chart (2019) and was listed on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time (2015). She even was named "Woman of the Decade" by Billboard and Artist of the Decade in 2010's by the American Music Awards.

She explains her passion for songs with these words: " Words can break someone into a million pieces, but they can also put them back together. The words... I love words. I love to write.
