THE RAT FOUND MANY LANDMINE AND EXPLOSIVE IN CAMBODIA IS AWARDED A GOLD MEDAL

A rat called Magawa training to find the landmines, awarded with a gold medal by England centered help organization for animals.
African pouched mouse Magawa throughout his career found 39 landmines and 28 unexploded explosives, became the first rat to receive this prestigious award. PDSA (The People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals) founded in 1917 till now rewarded 30 animals.
Association explained that this award was given 7 years old Magawa for “determine and detonate the mortal landmines in Cambodia, loyalty to the saving life mission”.
HERO MEDAL
Magawa’s medal also says “For animal heroism or love of duty”.
Magawa was trained by the Belgian animal rights organization Apopo, headquartered in Tanzania.
Association, train animals are known “HeroRATS” for determining the landmines and tuberculosis from the 1990’s up to now. Approximately after 1 year, they give the certificate to the animals.

MAGAWA DOES A FOUR DAY JOB IN HALF AN HOUR
Giant African rats are bigger than the other kinds. But, 70 cm Magawa just 1,2 kg. Because of that take advantage to find the explosives before the explosion.
Magawa works just half an hour, will be retired soon.
Giant African rats can sweep an area the size of a tennis court in 20 minutes.
It takes 1 or 4 days to sweep an area of this size with the mine detectors.
TRUMP LIFT OBAMA’S MINE BAN
It is estimated that there are as many as 6 million landmines in Cambodia.
Stated that from 1979 around 25 thousand people lose their legs and 69 thousand people die because of the landmines in the country.
Most of the mines were planted during the civil war in 1970-80.
In 2014, the old president of the USA Barack Obama banned using landmines.
